im Purcell grew up in northern British Columbia, and later moved to Vancouver where she received her BA from the University of British Columbia and studied Broadcast Journalism at BCIT. Her love of journalism blended with her love of fiction to create Trafficked, her debut young adult novel, published by Penguin in 2012. It was nominated for several state awards. Her second novel, This Is Not A Love Letter, comes out in January 2018 and is being published by Disney-Hyperion. She's currently completing her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at the Vermont College for Fine Arts She loves traveling, and has lived in Guadalajara, Seoul, Los Angeles, Vancouver and New York City. She now lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, two daughters, rescue dog and three cats. She loves tea, big hugs and random dance parties.
