Stephen Mitchellujean Rim was born in Brooklyn and grew up all over New York City. At an early age, she discovered Charles Schulz's Peanuts and Ezra Jack Keats' children's book, The Snowy Day, and their work inspired her to be an artist.

Drawing soon became her favorite passion and her interest in art continued to grow. She went on to attend the High School of Art & Design in NYC, where her focus turned to fashion. After graduating from Parsons School of Design with a degree in Fashion Design, Sujean began a successful career designing shoes and accessories for Perry Ellis, J.Crew, Ann Taylor and American Eagle Outfitters. But as much as she loves the fashion world, Sujean never stopped drawing and painting for herself. She put together a small portfolio of illustrations and dropped it off to any art director who would look at it. Her first commission came from Barney's New York. It was a small ad for The New York Times, but a big turning point for Sujean's career. She continued to moonlight part-time until she gradually became a full-time, freelance illustrator.

Well-known for her work for the popular website, Daily Candy, Sujean has since moved on to work with many clients, including Tiffany & Co. and Target. Today, she is also a published author and illustrator of children's books, and is working on several design and illustration projects, including a campaign for UNAIDS, while still finding time to draw and paint for herself.

Sujean lives in New York with her favorite artist, husband Bob, and their son, Charlie.
